The Perfect Backdrop

Andy and I met in the Atlanta airport. We were both going to the same conference. After spending a few days together there—in meetings, small group discussions, and group dinners—Andy decided to get to know me better. Our first date was in Aspen, Colorado, and we talked all night. Since then, we have had many a great conversation. We enjoy an undeniable connection that culminated in our wedding this past summer.
Our first big “relationship test” was a trip to Jackson, Andy’s favorite place. We spent a week traveling together; our adventures included rigorous hiking (blisters on every toe and the loss of two big toenails), fly fishing (my biggest catch was snagging my own leg), rafting, mountain biking, and exploring. Several trips and years later, we bought property in Jackson with plans to build a home and, someday, retire there.
We held our wedding ceremony at our property, in an open field with breathtaking views of the Grand Teton. Our florist, Sami Volcansek, designed more than just our wedding bouquets and floral accents; she styled the ceremony and reception for us.
She collaborated with vendors like Hunter Gatherer, The Wedding Pews, and Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club to create an intimate and beautiful ambiance while emphasizing the natural beauty of our surroundings.
With our family and closest friends in attendance—including our children, nieces, and nephews serving as our wedding attendants—we exchanged vows beside a heart-shaped stone, which we will incorporate into the patio of our future Jackson home. Following the wedding, our celebration moved to Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner on the patio, lawn games, and a fire pit.
Our wedding day was intimate, personal, and beautiful; Jackson was the perfect backdrop.
