Love and Fireworks
Adelle & Jed
Jed and I met at a pool party on Aspen Drive in Jackson on the Fourth of July in 2008. From the backyard, we watched the Snow King fireworks together. I had just moved to town that June, while Jed had lived in Jackson on and off. Once he moved back that September, we were inseparable. We spent three years living the Jackson dream until we finally decided to get “grown-up jobs” and move back to Jed’s hometown of Boston. We continue to visit Jackson at least twice a year. On July 4, 2013, Jed proposed as we watched the Snow King fireworks from the Elk Refuge. We knew since the beginning of our engagement that we had to have our wedding in Jackson, where we love spending all of our free time.
Planning the wedding from afar had its challenges, but it gave us plenty of excuses to visit. I knew that I wanted to have personal details in every element of our wedding. With the help of Kathi Michel (Special Events Jackson Hole), Shawn Daus (Jackson Hole Mountain Resort), and Jan Kew (Creative Botanicals), I was able to put a little piece of us in every facet. I spent hours making custom place cards, painting votive candleholders and vases, tying square knots for napkin rings, and scouring all of the Jackson thrift shops for candlestick holders. Jed spent the days before the wedding building a chuppah out of local aspen trees. The result left me awestruck. I could not have asked for anything more.
Most importantly, we were able to celebrate the day with many dear family members, friends, and loved ones in our favorite place: Jackson
