Weston and I met at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. A month after we started dating, Weston’s parents bought a home in the Teton Springs community of Victor, Idaho. We vacationed there over spring break, and I immediately fell in love with the area. The weather was beautiful, the scenery was breathtaking, and the overall atmosphere was amazing.

When Weston and I decided to get married, hosting a wedding in Teton Valley was at the top of our list. I discussed it with my parents, and before I knew it, we were planning a destination wedding. My mom was a huge help during the planning process. She lives in Iraan, Texas, and I lived in Abilene, some 200 miles apart. We spent many hours on the phone brainstorming ideas, making decisions, and reviewing the details.

Weston and I wanted the ceremony to be held outside. We looked around at different venues and ultimately fell in love with an option at Teton Springs. The site was amazing; it had every aspect we loved—aspen trees, lakes, and a peaceful, natural ambiance.

We debated about the reception for a few months. We wanted guests to see as much of Teton Valley’s beauty and uniqueness as possible. To complement our outdoor ceremony, we chose to have our reception indoors. Weston and I looked for a venue with views of the Teton mountain range. We decided that Warbirds Cafe in Driggs had everything we wanted—the Teton views, a whole restaurant to ourselves, and a hangar full of restored vintage warplanes for our guests’ viewing enjoyment.

The rehearsal dinner was held at Linn Canyon Ranch in Victor, which is a beautiful venue. There is a rustic house that is surrounded by grass and trees where the appetizers and lemonade were served before dinner. Dinner was held inside, where we got to enjoy everyone’s company. Since it was a smaller wedding, all of our guests were invited to the rehearsal dinner. After the delicious meal, we enjoyed s’mores around a campfire. Weston’s family and the staff at Linn Canyon Ranch worked hard to make sure every detail was perfect; it was a great evening. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere, live music, weather, and beautiful views the Linn Ranch had to offer.

With the help of Dana Sordahl, our wedding day was perfect. Being from Texas, our family members could not believe the gorgeous weather or scenery; it was fantastic! Many of our guests stayed a few days after our wedding to visit Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and Jackson.
